The tempo is constantly rising throughout the song, starting at about 97 bpm and ending up at 103 bpm, but for most of the time until the last verse it settles around 101 bpm.
The Gm at the end of the bridge is only clearly played by a guitar and quite buried in the mix.
This is a great example of James Jamerson using open strings for a change of position of his fretting hand and using them as practically ghost notes while raking across the strings with his plucking hand to get to a lower note.
mm. 20 & 36 These are the only two times James goes to the low G over the E♭ chord. Most other times he plays an A♭ or plays around it otherwise, so possibly this was his way of marking this as the chorus, as opposed to the verses that use the same chord structure. If this was deliberate, he deviated from it in the outro chorus, though.
m. 60 The A sounds like him stumbling over the open string rather than a deliberate choice.
mm. 45, 53, 61 & 65 The only times James plays an E instead of an F as the last eighth note. This mirrors his approach to the two chords before, but clashes with the other instruments already playing the anticipated F chord.
